StandardAero Receives EASA STC for
King Air 200/B200 Series P&WC PT6A-52 Engine Upgrade
Dec 7, 2013
TEMPE, Ariz. – December 7, 2012 – StandardAero announced today that it has received European Aviation Safety Administration (EASA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC #10040181) approval to upgrade King Air 200/200C/B200/B200C aircraft to Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PT6A-52 engines. This STC is fully compatible with numerous STC’s including Raisbeck Engineering modifications and Garmin G1000 avionics equipment.
“Today’s announcement provides a major advantage to European operators of King Air 200/200C/B200/B200C aircraft as they now have a choice to upgrade to P&WC PT6A-52 engines,” said Alain Berube, Vice President, Turboprop Programs, StandardAero. “Our global presence and experience in the turboprop market not only gives operators a reliable alternative but the option to have this STC performed at their location of choice. With StandardAero’s engine-upgrade program, our customers can get new P&WC PT6A-52 engines for a comparable cost to overhauling their high time P&WC PT6A-41 or -42 engines, while increasing performance and aircraft value.”
StandardAero’s upgrade program provides P&WC PT6A-52 engines to- Beechcraft King Air 200-series operators with the benefits of operating a new engine, including increased aircraft value and increased performance, allowing for over 300 knots true airspeed in cruise. StandardAero also offers extended warranty coverage to 10 years or base time-before-overhaul.
StandardAero is the only Designated Distributor and Overhaul Facility for P&WC PT6A engines that can offer customers both engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and engine upgrade options.
StandardAero received FAA approval for this upgrade (STC #SA02715CH-D) in June 2009.
