Elon Musk has long discussed building a Tesla VTOL Supersonic Jet, but the battery density has prevented him from doing so. However, more recently, Elon has stated that 400 Wh/kg, the energy density required for electric flight, will likely be achievable at high volume in 3-4 years time.
