Message from the President: Call for your participation
Dear Fellow AME Association Members,
This announcement is to remind all members that WAMEA Symposium and Trade Show is approaching rapidly and with it comes our Annual General Meeting.
What and who do you see at the symposium is dependent on the dedication and the hard work of your executive directors as well as the numerous volunteers. Without these volunteers our symposium would seize to exist.
WAMEA is set up to be a means to transfer your thoughts, comments, and ideas to Transport Canada through your national organization, the Canadian Federation of Maintenance Engineers, CFAMEA.
At our next Annual General Meeting we will be privileged to have some directors continue on with their position on the Board, however we will have some who have decided to take a break and not renew their position and will not run for another term. That means you can be directly involved with your organization. As a dedicated group of professions we are trying to make things easier, better and more efficient in our industry. Just have someone nominate you for a position you feel you can handle on a day-to-day, month-to-month basis.
If you are reading this right now, you have already seen our new website, which was built by the Board of Directors solely for our membership to use to renew memberships, register to attend the symposiums and stay active in the association. Without your participation and interjection about what we needed in a website it would not have been possible.
WAMEA is always looking for fresh new ideas from their members and
new individuals in our industry. For individuals who are involved with the association can feel very rewarding in the sense that you can make a difference, and perhaps there are a number of people who agree with your point of view. In my opinion, by getting involved with the association you will not only allow the association to grow, but you will also grow as a professional. As a director you will be required to commit your time as a volunteer to the association, utilize your skills, increase your communication with others in the industry, and effectively use your good sense and integrity to benefit your fellow engineers and your industry.
Make sure you take the time to explore our amazing new website and mark the date of the Symposium on your calendar to ensure your attendance. Meet new individuals in the industry and reconnect with old acquaintances. See your horizons grow and convince another AME to join the association. Your participation is key! See you at the 2013 Symposium/Trade show.
Create a safe day,
Rod Fisher, President WAMEA
Vice President CFAMEA
