That may not seem like much, but it is; Back in the Blue Book days, the USG maintained outstanding narrative control over the subject. Then starting in the 1970s, it allowed private organizations to take the lead. That wasn&#8217;t a problem until recently. Today the DOD, NASA, and now AARO are here, becoming the leading experts that are likely to remain as the dominant media voices on the subject.
