The event is scheduled for October 18-20, 2016, at the Rio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Fort Atkinson, WI (August 17, 2015) – Ground Support Worldwide magazine, the largest global GSE publication, and the International Airport Equipment Manufacturers Assn. (IAEMA) have reached an agreement to jointly host the largest GSE-only industry event, the International Airport GSE Expo. The event is scheduled for October 18-20, 2016, at the Rio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The event brings together Ground Support Worldwide’s GSE Expo and IAEMA’s International Airport Expo, to create the one and only ground support equipment trade show in 2016. It also marks the culmination of almost two years of discussion to address the desires for a single, equipment-focused event to serve the ground support industry.
“We are extremely excited to partner with IAEMA, to provide our industry with the best venue to meet suppliers, network with peers, and bring decision makers together in one place,” says Sue Ralston, show director, International Airport GSE Expo.
IAEMA Board Member, Virginia Salas added, “our mission from the first day was to listen, provide and support our industry with the business interests that help us all grow. Having a single GSE show located in North America that alternates biennially with Inter Airport in Munich was a strong desire expressed by the entire GSE community and I am pleased IAEMA was able to meet this by partnering with GSE Expo.”
Ms. Ralston requests that those interested in attending or exhibiting at the 2016 event to stay tuned for updates on registration, exhibitor materials, and hotel information via Ground Support Worldwide magazine and its newsletter.
About IAEMA: The mission of the International Airport Equipment Manufacturers Association (IAEMA) is to promote and support the viability and business interests of the aviation ground support equipment community, including manufacturers, distributors, rebuilders and end-users (airlines, ground handlers, FBOs). IAEMA fulfills this mission through education, communications and organization of industry specific events.

Expos are aimed at educating young adults in elementary, college and university who would like to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace.
Grassroots education is an important issue in our industry, especially given the large number of aviation pilots, maintenance engineers, aerospace professionals and others who will be retiring in the near future.
The goal is to educate a new wave of aviation and aerospace professional, offering them access to a great venue to meet prominent aviation and aerospace leaders in a fun, informative aviation-related atmosphere.
How the Expos work
The Expos feature educational seminars speakers and industry experts all in one place to give aspiring aviators a chance to network and share information about potential career options. Educational panelists include: pilots, airport workers, ramp workers, aerospace professionals and more.
The goal is to show aspiring aviators that pilot is just one avenue they can choose – there are many options – and the Expos try to point out several of the various options.
Locations/Venues – The Wings and Helicopters team puts on two events per year, one in the GTA and one in a western Canadian location. The event has progressed from a Vaughan, Ont. hotel ballroom six years ago to aviation hangars and aviation museums across the region – including the Porter and Jazz hangars in Toronto and the WestJet Campus in Calgary.
A Breakdown of the Day – The Expo includes a mixture of education sessions, networking opportunities, special tours so and exhibits for attendees to get a flavour of the aviation/aerospace industry.
Past events have included simulator tours, aircraft tours, tours of the facility (WestJet Campus, Jazz maintenance hangar, Ottawa Aviation and Space Museum and more).
Special aspects of the event – Exhibitors often bring in aircraft for tours and site hosts have also offered tours of their sites. This adds to the caché of the event, giving kids a special feel for the aircraft and other aspects of aviation/aerospace life.
The end goal – The CIA Expos enable young adults to rub shoulders with industry leaders and get a real sense of what aviation and aerospace careers are all about. It’s a fun day of education, learning and planting the seeds to help their careers soar!

Event description
On the heels of the successful sixth edition of Innovation Aerospace Forum held in April 2018 at the Montreal’s Palais des Congrès (more than 1 300 visitors from 15 countries and close to 100 world-class speakers), Aéro Montréal will repeat this world-class gathering by organizing on April 20 and 21, 2020 the seventh edition of this world-class event.
The Innovation Aerospace Forum brings together worldwide aerospace players and suppliers, enabling them to discuss best practices in innovation developed by the industry along with future trends, while fostering business opportunities between all participants.
After 15 years of solid growth and incremental development, our sector is now completing a digital shift where innovation plays a key role to create new growth opportunities and efficiencies. Furthermore, it needs to respond to new issues, be it development, safety, security or reducing its carbon footprint. The passenger experience is also more than ever at the centre of the strategic thinking and development for all actors in the value chain.
Aéro Montréal dedicates this 2020 edition of the Forum to this shift poised to sustainably change our industry’s dynamics and the Montreal ecosystem that supports it. Participants will have the opportunity to attend plenary sessions, conferences, workshops, dynamic demonstrations, technological meetings business to business, an aerospace innovation showroom and multiple networking events.
The Forum will focus on five main themes covering all players in our sector’s value chain:
- Environmental and societal issues: air traffic and air transport forecasts, the industry’s carbon balance, passenger behavioural changes;
- The connected journey: connectivity in passenger travel, airport operations and flight operations;
- Aerospace digital shift: the industry’s capacity issues, digital design, manufacturing and services, gains and impact on corporate structures;
- More electrical air transport: the decarbonization of the aerospace industry, new “Thin-Haul” transport solutions, technical solutions envisioned and impact of more electrical in the value chain and passenger behaviour;
- The New Space: where we are heading in terms of new models and technical solutions, what time horizon, which implications.
Aéro Montréal organizes the Innovation Aerospace Forum 2020 in collaboration with the National Research Council (NRC). It will kick-start the International Aerospace Week – Montréal, April 20-23, 2020, with 1,500 Canadian and international decision-makers and professionals from the aerospace and information technology industries attending. Innovation Aerospace Forum 2020 is the most important gathering of decision-makers from the aerospace industry in Canada.
Event goals
- Confirm Montreal’s place as the 3rd global centre of expertise in aerospace;
- Present the main technological advancements in global aerospace;
- Facilitate aerospace innovation in Montreal by sharing strategic issues and best practices and tactics related to the aerospace innovation chain management;
- Multiply business opportunities in aerospace technology;
- Stregthen linkages between global aerospace leaders and the whole aerospace industry in Montreal;
- Engage the aerospace community’s main actors around joint innovation strategies;
- Attract foreign companies to establish themselves in the Quebec aerospace ecosystem;
- Encourage partnerships between the various organizations.
Audience
This event targets all decision-makers in the aerospace industry from of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and the world, university representatives, research centres, public decision makers, students and specialized media. We expect all main global players, private (major prime contractors and suppliers) or public.
