Flying High in a Big way

August 18, 2016

The world’s largest airship, Airlander 10, completed its maiden trip on Wednesday at London’s Cardington airfield, after a postponement due to technical concerns on Sunday. Nicknamed “the Flying Bum” for its shape, lasted for about half an hour. The airship completed a series of flight maneuvers and landed safely.

Stephen McGlennan, of the airship’s manufacturer “Hybrid Air Vehicles”, says the aircraft “is a mixture of airplane technology, airship technology and helicopter technology”.

… for recreation, cargo transport and disaster relief.

… it can land on water, ice or even desert; and it can travel up to 100 kilometers per hour.
